At the last Ballina Council meeting there was unanimous support for Cr Jeff Johnson’s motion regarding a plan to encourage indigenous economic development in the region.
The motion had two parts:
That Council acknowledges and confirms its support for the Federal Government’s Indigenous Procurement Policy targets of 3% of the number of contracts and at least 1% of the value of contracts being awarded to Indigenous businesses each financial year, based on a three year rolling average.
